- I am actually going through the legal steps so I can be a breeder for chinchillas. I have 2 females one is a long tailed gray chinchilla and the other is a short tailed black and white chinchilla. I have the proper cages all the food, toys, treats, as well as a veterinarian. Just looking if someone can point me in the right direction of getting started on being a breeder in the state of Michigan!
